چکیده

Actuators triggered by water evaporation have found potential applications in a wide range of emerging fields, including smart structures, power generators, artificial muscles, and soft robots. In addition to poor mechanical performance, conventional actuators raise major economic environmental concerns due their expensive complex synthesis processes with hazardous chemicals high ecological footprint. Herein, nacre-inspired moisture-responsive actuator is fabricated using graphene oxide (GO) tapioca starch (TS), water-soluble, low-cost, eco-friendly natural polymer. The resultant TS/GO nanocomposite film has excellent properties exhibits rapid autonomous locomotion under moisture attack. Moreover, the demonstrates bending speed ?60° s?1 lift load up ten times its own weight. Based on these features, novel detection alarm system control operating circuits assembled film. Furthermore, shows that it capable mimicking biological structures like flowers can undergo even for nonwater vapors isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, chloroform.

Multifunctional Elastomer Nanocomposites with Functionalized Graphene Single Sheets

We demonstrate the use of functionalized graphene sheets (FGSs) as multifunctional nanofillers to improve mechanical properties, lower gas permeability, and impart electrical conductivity for several distinct elastomers. FGS consists mainly of single sheets of crumbled graphene containing oxygen functional groups and is produced by the thermal exfoliation of oxidized graphite (GO). The present ...

Multifunctional glucose biosensors from Fe3O4 nanoparticles modified chitosan/graphene nanocomposites

Novel water-dispersible and biocompatible chitosan-functionalized graphene (CG) has been prepared by a one-step ball milling of carboxylic chitosan and graphite. Presence of nitrogen (from chitosan) at the surface of graphene enables the CG to be an outstanding catalyst for the electrochemical biosensors. The resulting CG shows lower ID/IG ratio in the Raman spectrum than other nitrogen-contain...

High-stress study of bioinspired multifunctional PEDOT:PSS/nanoclay nanocomposites using AFM, SEM and numerical simulation

Bioinspired design has been central in the development of hierarchical nanocomposites. Particularly, the nacre-mimetic brick-and-mortar structure has shown excellent mechanical properties, as well as gas-barrier properties and optical transparency. Along with these intrinsic properties, the layered structure has also been utilized in sensing devices. Here we extend the multifunctionality of nac...
